Qualified Sources Sought, SOL RFP 3589-Laundry. Morrison Knudsen Corp., MK-Ferguson Company (MK-F), is currently performing work under a Department of Energy Prime Contract at the Weldon Spring Site Remedial Action Project (WSSRAP) located in St. Charles, Missouri. Qualified sources are being sought for providing laundry services on potentially contaminated protective clothing. This procurement action will result in a one year contract with one year option period. A contract for this type of work will typically range in value from 100K to $300K. It is anticipated that the RFP will be prepared by September 22, 1995. Interested qualified parties should have the ability to: 1) Launder many types of personnel protective equipment (PPE) contaminated with natural thorium and associated decay products, thorium 230, radium 226 and associated decay products, asbestos fibers, cadmium and lead; 2) Launder PPE separately from other customer laundry; 3) Perform radiation surveys of laundered materials and provide certification of survey; 4) Provide pick-up and delivery services; 5) Return laundered PPE within seven calendar days of pick-up; 6) Provide mending services to repair damaged PPE and perform other alterations; 7) Segregate several types of PPE for purposes of laundering separately and for purposes of returning in segregated containers; 8) Provide L59 60 cubic feet shipping containers on a rental basis as requested.
