The Coast Guard intends to issue a sole source delivery order to MITEL INC, under GS00K95AS0598 for parts to upgrade the private Branch Exchange (PBX) system so that they are compatible with the North American Numbering Plan (NAMP), which goes into effct 01 Jan 96. (These PBX's are the telephone switches controlling all calls into/out of, or within each unit). Under this plan, new area codes are being created, with the second digit being numbers other than 1 or 0. The upgrade will enable the old PBX's to recognize these new area codes. The systems being upgraded are all USCG-owned systems manufactured by MITEL. In order to upgrade these systems we must have the following: 24 ea Upgrade Kits, 21 ea Digital Interface Cards, 24 ea G 1005 Softwares, 24 ea 3.5 Floppy Disks, and 21 ea Bay 4-5 PCM. These parts will be shipped to eight (8) activities listed in the following geographical locations: Portsmouth, NH; Otis AFB., MA; New Orleans, LA; Galveston, TX; Portsmouth, VA; Key West, FL; Miami Beach, FL; and St. Petersburg, FL.
