A -- VECTOR PRODUCT FORMAT (VPF) PROTOTYPE DEVELOPMENT (VPD) SOL DMA800-95-R-8099 POC Contracting Officer, Mr. Eric Rauch, 301-227-5317, Fax 301-227-2218 Sources Sought. The Defense Mapping Agency is seeking parties who may have an interest in responding to a future RFP. A requirement exists to prototype digital cartographic data in Vector Product Format (VPF). The VPF Standard has been implemented in a suite of products used in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), navigation, planning, command and control, and advanced weapon systems. Presently, Government requirements exist for the following three new products to be prototyped: (1) Tactical Littoral Data (TLD), (2) Tactical Oceanic Data (TOD); and (3) Digital Flight Informaiton Publication (DFLIP). Other prototype products may be added to these requirements. Additionally, three requirements will be options in the solcitation: (1) To refine methods for automated updates to VPF products; (2) Enhance the Computer Graphics Metafile (CGM) symbology previously developed for use with VPF Products; and (3) Consolidate two divergent versions of the VPF display software, VPFView, and create one multi-platform software baseline. A request for Industry Comments (RFIC) will be sent to all parties responding to this message. The RFIC will include the ''DRAFT'' statement of work. Comments regarding the SOW will be solicited. In order to be considered for award, an offeror must have approved facilities and cleared personnel for storage and processing of clasified data up to the DoD SECRET level.
