The bid opening for this project is schedule for mid-April. The purpose of this notice is to made bidders aware of this upcoming project because the trail is normally under snow from October to June. Bidders are strongly encouraged to look at the project site prior to inclement weather. This project is for reconstruction of approximately 2000 lineal feet of trail from Lower Silvis Lake (near powerhouse) to Upper Silvis Lake. Work includes excavating sections of full bench trail, removing existing structures and installing log and rock waterbars, drainage dips, box culverts, log and rock open drains, log, rock, and bedrock steps. The project starts at station 0+00 near the powerhouse at the west end of Lower Silvis Lake to project end at Upper Silvis Lake. Silvis Lake is located on Revillagigedo Island in Southeast Alaska. Contract time is 180 calendar days. Estimated price range is between $100,000 and $250,000. Telephone requests for solicitation will not be honored.
