USCG intends to negotiate and contract for miscellaneous parts and
supplies to be used in connection with and be totally compatible with
currently installed Seabird Electronics deck and software program owned
an operated by the Coast Guard Polar Science Program. It will be the
sole responsibility of the firm providing the quotation to confirm
compatibility at the time they submit their price quotation. Items to
be acquired include seaspares SBE 9plus support kit (1 each), altimeter
with 6800M depth, 11 - 24 VDC imput, 100M range (2 each), interface
cable (2 each), deck unit signal imput cable for slip rings (2 each),
carousel water sampler, 6800M depth (must have capability of firing the
bottles in any order, firing the bottles instantaneously, firing the
same bottles more than once and method to verify whether the firing
actually occurred) (1 each). Parts also include Option 32-2m 24-bottle
10-liter number/size option (1 each), CTD interface cable (2 each),
Carousel tool kit (1 each), hardware/fastener spares (1 each), O-Ring
spare kit (1 each) and Tri-tech ST200-6K8 mounting kit (1 each) or
equal. All items will be required within 30 days after receipt of order
and will include standard manufacturers warranties. The RFQ will be
issued fifteen calendar days after the date of publication of this
notice with award anticipated not later than 26 Sep 1995. This
procurement is a 100 per cent Small Business Set-Aside. The SIC code is
3829 and the small business size standard is $14.5 million dollars
average annual receipts for the preceding three fiscal years. All
responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the
agency. When calling, be prepared to state the solicitation number.
Special Note: For Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business
Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small
and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
