Pitts (301) 344-3786 USDA, ARS, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Hewlett- Packard for hardware and software preventive maintenance and repair support service of analytical instruments including mass spectrometers, liquid chromatographs, gas chromatographs, GC/MS with PB interface, super critical fluid extractor with diode array detection, printers, monitors, computers including drives, auto injectors and auxiliary equipment located at the National Soil Tilth Laboratory in Ames IA, from 01/01/96 through 09/30/96 with two one-year options. Required service includes next day parts availability; loaner equipment; remote trouble shooting and repair of instruments; factory trained personnel for both hardware and software support; and, training facilities. Firms with the ability to furnish the required maintenance support; service personnel and training facilities must submit written responses including prices and technical information sufficient to determine capability to meet the entire requirement which must be received by this office within 15 calendar days after publication of this notice.
