7238 B -- ASC-NSIA INDUSTRY CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT DUE 092895 POC Refer to
Description. In support of the Air Force Modernization Planning Process
(AFMPP), the Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC) and the National
Security Industrial Association (NSIA) are sponsoring the first ASC -
NSIA classified conference on 4-5 Oct 95. ''The Modern Millennium -
Satisfying the Warfighter's Needs'' is a conference grown from the
ASC/XR - NSIA ''Industry Day'' and will present a discussion of the
AFMPP, the Warfighter's needs, and how the process has matured over the
previous year. ''The Modern Millennium'' is a conference about mission
area needs and future requirements. The impact of the AFMPP on
national defense goals in hard budget times as well as the status,
direction and implementation of the process will be covered. The
preferred concept options (including those from last year's concept
call), analysis plans, and supporting technologies will be discussed.
Separate sessions featuring detailed discussions with the Mission Area
(MAT) teams, the Technical Planning Integrated Product Team (TPIPT)
Chiefs, and Laboratory representatives will be held on the afternoon of
the second day. Special emphasis will be placed on industry's role in
the cooperative effort required to make the process work. A separate,
but related, activity will occur on 3 Oct. The new Defense Planning and
Analysis Society (DPAS) with ASC's Deputy for Development Planning
(ASC/XR) will be co-hosting it's first seminar. DPAS's primary
objective is to improve the efficiency of defense planning analysis,
modeling and simulation. The one day DPAS seminar will focus on mission
area planning tools, PC models, and databases. Those interested in the
DPAS seminar should contact the DPAS Coordinator, Mr. Bob Marcischak
of Frontier Technology Incorporated. He can be reached at (513)
429-3302 or by Fax (513) 429-3704. The fee for the DPAS seminar is $50

be sent to Mr. Jack Cannon, DPAS Treasurer, 2424 Westlawn Drive,
Dayton, Ohio, 45400-2039 by 15 September. The DPAS seminar will be
unclassified. Neither activity is intended to be an avenue for formal
contracting activities with the U.S. Government. Rather, they are to be
avenues that may lead to future acquisition activities through the
proper specification of defense requirements. Participants can attend
either or both events. Those interested in receiving more conference
