issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) Digitizing Oscilloscope --
NASA/MSFC intends to purchase from Tektronix Inc. the following items:
Digitizing Oscilloscope, Tektronix Model No. TDS784A with P6139A scope
probes -- Computer must interface and built-in waveform processing
functions, meeting the following specifications: Sampling Rate: 4 GS/s
or greater -- Analog Bandwidth: 1 Ghz or greater -- Number of signal
channels: 2, prefer 4 -- Time Bases: Main and delayed -- Time Scale: 1
ns to 10 s/div. -- Sensitivity: 1mV to 10V/div. -- Triggers: Edge and
pulse, and logic state (logical combinations) -- Main Trigger Modes:
Automatic, Normal and single shot -- Delayed Trigger: Delay by time and
event -- Vertical Resolution: 8 bits -- Record Length: 50,000 points --
Input Coupling: AC,DC and GND -- Probes -- 10X,500 MHz bandwidth --
Display: Color monitor with dual window zoom, User definable colors for
waveforms and text -- Interface Ports: GPIB and RS-232 -- Computer
Interface: GPIB programmability with talk/listen modes for controlling
the oscilloscope modes settings, and measurements -- Floppy Drive: 3.5

the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) portion of the Federal
Acquisition Streamlining Act (FASA) -- Request for copies of the RFQ

acceptable -- Note: This sole-source procurement, described is based
on -- Interested firms have 15 days from the publication date of this
synopsis to submit their qualifications/capabilities in the critical
areas mentioned above, along with a request for a copy of the
solicitation -- Such qualifications/ capabilities will be used solely
for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this
procurement on a competitive basis -- Responses received after the 15
days or without the required information will be considered
nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered -- A
determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract,
on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this
notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government -- Oral
communications are not acceptable in response to this notice -- The RFQ
will be released on or about 15 days after publication of this notice
