A -- ANALYSIS AND CALCULATION FOR NIAB IN THE LB/TS SOL DNA001-95-R-0055 POC Daniel Bertuna, Negotiator, (703) 325-1197, Scott G. Morton, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-1200. Analysis and calculation for Non-Ideal Air Blast (NIAB) in the Large Blast and Thermal Simulator (LB/TS) - Proposed effort is to provide the U.S. Army with information to allow them to determine if their equipment, tactics and doctrine are vulnerable to NIAB environment to the degree that a change is required in one or all of these areas. Proposed contract effort includes analysis of existing nuclear and shock tube airblast data and execution and analysis of airblast calculations for NIAB simulations in LB/TS. The effort includes documentation of the theoretical and analytical aspects of the program and the analysis of the actual testing. The effort will determine the theoretical capability of helium layer simulations in LB/TS and expected LB/TS performance using helium layers. This effort will provide theoretical support for the tests, evaluate the experimental work and finally document the entire LB/TS NIAB program (both analytical and experimental). The solicitation for this effort will be issued on or about 13 Sep 95. All contractor personnel will require a DoD security clearance of SECRET.
