The Federal Communication Commission intends to enter into a sole source contract with Severn Companies, Inc. 9701-S Philadelphia Court, Lanham, Maryland 20706-4400. The contractor designed, developed, implemented and now maintains a write-once read-many optical-imaging database system that stores FCC document images, document and docket index data, and history text files, for research capabilities to the FCC staff and the public. The system is refered to as the Record Image Processing System (RIPS). The intended sole source contract will provide for maintenance of the system for up to 24 months while the FCC competitively develops and implements a replacement system. The Contractor currently charges $4,627 a month to maintain the hardware, software and data for this system. Therefore, estimated maximum value of the requirement is $111,048.
