services of the Legi-Slate Database produced by Legi-Slate, through
Fedlink (Library of Congress). Legi-Slate is an online, full-text
database covering the U.S. Legislative and Regulatory process.
Legi-Slate tracks bills as they move through the legislative system
from introduction to final passage and monitors announcements from the
Federal Register. Biographical and voting profiles of members of
Congress are available online as well as transcripts of daily press
briefings from the White House, the Department of State and Department
of Defense, transcripts, testimony of major administration officials,
and selected committee hearings. The Washington Post, National Journal
and Federal News Service are available online the same day they are
published. The Legi-slate service includes on-site training at overseas
locations. USIA and posts estimate a total of about 3,500 hours of
