sought. The U.S. Army Soldier System Command (SSCOM) Natick, MA is
conducting a Market Survey to compile a list of manufacturers who are
currently producing full face ballistic protection or can produce items
with a minimal effort. The face shield must: a) defeat a .22 caliber
chisel-nosed fragment with V/50 = 220 m/ =720 ft/s up to a 9mm 124
grain FMJ round, b) protect the entire face, c) be glare, scratch and
static resistent, d) be attachable and compatible with all sizes of the
Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops (PASGT) helmet without
prescription eyeglasses, f) be compatible with the M-40 Gas Protective
Mask, and g) have a maximum weight of 3 pounds (for the highest level
of protection. Interested firms must submit within 30 days following
the publication of this synopsis, information on their products. This
should include at a minimum an item description which details the
material descriptions, any ballistic certifications, illustrations with
corresponding descriptive information, previous related experience,
personnel resumes, list of facilities, and any other specific,
information which the firm believes demonstrates its ability to perform
the proposed work. In addition, include whether the firm is a small
business (less than 500 employees), woman owned, or socially and
