pavement; 28,220 ton dense-graded emulsified asphalt pavement; 78,113
sqyd asphalt pavement milling; 75,250 sqyd recycled aggregate course;
52,647 sqyd cold recycled asphalt base course; 85 acres clearing &
grubbing; 2,700 lnft asphalt concrete curb; 13,500 sqft simulated stone
masonry surface treatment; 21,000 ton untreated aggregate courses;
4,359 lnft culverts & drains; 8,000 lnft underdrains; 6,000 lnft gravel
filter beam; 532,534 cuyd excavation & embankment; 75,250 sqyd recycled
aggregate course; 8,406 sqft gabions; 66,789 sqft gabion faced
retaining wall; 19,100 lnft guardrail; 43,000 sqyd placing conserved
topsoil; 4,550 sqft soil nail wall; 18,725 lnft riprap lined ditch;
3,990 lnft removal of guardrail; 6,000 hr pilot car; 12,000 hr
flagging; 348,625 lnft permanent pavement markings; 6,500 sqyd type 2
matting; 0.8 acre wetland mitigation; and other small items of work.
PRELIMINARY PLANS will be available on or about October 2, 1995. Fixed
completion date is either November 1, 1997 or September 1, 1998.
Estimated price is over $10,000,000. Presolicitation notices are being
provided to firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently with the
publication of this synopsis.----The following applies only to
Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The
Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged
Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
