Notice is hereby given that, The United States Air Force, ESC/AV, will purchase ONE Transportable Inmarsat-B Earth Station Consisting of: Transportable Inmarsat-B Earth Station, Hard transportable transit case, Master handset extension kit 500 feet, 10-32 Vdc power option. This equipment will be used to provide communications capability to support worldwide field deployments. Currently, the International Maritime Satellite (Inmarsat) consortium is the only know source of commercial world-wide communication capability (excluding the North and South Polar regions). The service required to meet the ESC/AV requirements is defined as Inmarsat-B. Per the results of a search of the Internet World Wide Web on 14 August 1995, ViaSat Technology Corporation was listed as the only source of Inmarsat-B terminals.
