The Government knows of one source, Quantex Microsystems, Inc., 2 Tower Center Blvd., East Brunswick, NJ 08811 that has the capability of providing this system. The Contractor shall provide the Food and Drug Administration with 21 each of the Quantex M-4 Pentium 90Mhz 16MB RAM System with pre-installed licensed software included in system price as follows: MS-DOS 6.2 and Windows for Workgroups 3.11 (or latest version of each); pre-loaded Novell PerfectOffice standard software with Documentation. Software substitutions shall not be accepted. The Windows 95 Operating System is also not acceptable. System configuration for 21 each M-4 Pentium 90Mhz 16MB RAM system is as follows (Note: 19 w/850MB HD; 2 w/1.2G HD of which one is to be configured w/1.7G tape backup): Microprocessor: 90Mhz Intel Pentium Processor, minimum Triton PCI chipset; Memory: 16MB RAM, expandable to 128MB, 72-pin Simms; BIOS: Award; Cache: 256KB Ultra Fast Cache; CD-ROM: Toshiba Quad speed CD-ROM Drive Multi-session (600 KB/sec. In accordance with FAR 6.303-2 and FIRMR 201-39.601-3, a Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition (JOFOC) has been certified, justified and approved for Quantex. This requirement will be accomplished through the new simplified acquisition rules under FAR Part 13 dated December 15, 1994. All reasonable responses will be considered. Concerns having the ability to provide the system as specified above must submit written quotations to demonstrate the ability to fulfill all hardware and software specifications addressed to the attention of Nickie McKenna, referencing 95FF061508. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 (fifteen) days from the date this synopsis is published, the Contracting Officer will proceed with the acquisition to Quantex Microsystems, Inc.
