This is a notification of intent of the Department of the Treasury to place a delivery order with Legi-Slate, Inc. to secure online retrieval service for Congressional and Legislative activity for the period of October 1, 1995 through September 30, 1996. The Office of the Inspector General requires the following: (1) Congressional service which includes the daily updating of the full text of bills and associated subject indexing, bill digests, status and abstracts, legislative history of all bills, members profiles, and full text of the Congressional Record, the Washington Post, and the National Journal; (2) Regulatory Service including the full text of the Federal Register, and daily updating of the Register and the Code of Federal Regulations; and (3) USC service including the full text of the United States Code with word and phrase searching capability. This is a notification of intent to purchase services. No contract award will be made on the basis of this notice. A synopsis of intent to place an order cannot be considered a request for offers/proposals. Other interested firms able to meet these requirements at prices, terms and conditions more favorably than those of the referenced vendor, Legi-Slate, are invited to submit responses, but only if responding in writing with clear and convincing documentation. Responses must include descriptive literature and prices. Telephonic responses will not be considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued. If a solicitation is issued no additional synopsis will be published. Any such solicitation will be issued to the intended vendor and all firms that respond to this synopsis of intent or otherwise request a copy of the solicitation. If no affirmative written documentation and prices are received within fifteen (15) calendar days after publication of this synopsis to the effect that a comparable source is available, an order will be placed with Legi-Slate.
