The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has a requirement for support of the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) Office of Science and Health Reports (OSHR) in disseminating scientific and technological information about NCRR-supported resources and technologies at NIH and nationwide to diverse scientific and lay audiences. The Contractor will be required to employ print, electronic, and other proven state-of-the-art communications techniques in order to broaden the user base and thereby maximize effective use of NCRR-supported research resources and technologies. This requirement will allow NCRR to provide and improve cost-effective customer service to biomedical research scientists throughout the U.S. by providing greater awareness of the availability of NCRR's shared resources, broader use of these resources, increased communication and collaboration among users, and improved communication with the public. The requirement includes the writing, editing, production, and dissemination of publications such as the bi-monthly news periodical, the NCRR Reporter, and the annual report, NCRR Highlights. Daily pickups are required from the NIH. The NIH intends to negotiate a multiyear contract for a period of five years, rather than a one-year contract with four one-year options.
