15 -- FY 1996 USMC AV-8B PROCUREMENT POC Contact, Paula Driscoe, Phone (703)604-1920 The production of between four and eight AV-8B Harrier II Plus aircraft through a remanufacture concept which transfers selected components from day attack aircraft into the production process. Under Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) contract N00019-95-C-0094 NAVAIRSYSCOM intends to negotiate with McDonnell Douglas Aerospace, P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516. McDonnell Douglas Aerospace, under license, is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the AV-8B aircraft. NAVAIRSYSCOM will also procure between four and eight F402-RR-408A model engines for the U.S. Marine Corp in FY 1996 under contract N00019-95-C-0144. NAVAIRSYSCOM intends to negotiate with Rolls-Royce Military Aero Engines Limited, Bristol, England, sole manufacturer of the F402-RR-408A engine and the only firm with the requisite knowledge and expertise to perform the effort.
