(315)477-4507 Architect/Engineer services for the preparation of
working drawings and specifications, cost estimate, submittal review
and other construction period services for three separate projects at
the VA Medical Center, Syracuse, New York. Drawings shall be CADD
generated with Aytocadd 386 DOS Release 11 on .DWG format.
Specifications shall be compiled from VA master specifications which
will be provided (most available on 5-1/4'' discs for copying)
(Wordperfect format). Award will be made in the aggregate to one firm
capable of accomplishing all work required for the three projects.
Selection will be based on specialized experience, capability of the
firm to perform, professional qualifications of the staff to be
assigned to the projects and past record of performance. Prospective
offerors should provide evidence of accurate estimating in the form of
a comparison between their estimates and actual project amounts. The
area of consideration is restricted to firms within a 165 mile radius
of the medical center. Appropriate data for each individual project
must be submitted on form's SF 254 and SF 255 no later than September
29, 1995. Submissions should emphasize experience in similar projects.
This is not a request for proposals. SIC Code 8711 applies. The three
projects include: 1. Replace CT Scanner, Project No. 96-604,
construction estimate is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The
project may require cutting a hole in the side of the building to
remove existing CT Scanner, which is how the original unit was
installed. Also included is the replacement of floors, ceilings and
wall finishes. Mechanical and electrical work is limited to that
anticipated for the replacement of the twin unit 10 ton Liebert cooling
system and the power conditioner. 2. Outpatient Surgery/Recovery -
2E/4W, Project No. 670-266: Estimated construction is between $500,000
and $1,000,000.00. This project will convert office space on 4 west
into an outpatient surgery clinic. The clinic will include endoscopy
and general procedure rooms, chemotherapy, and urodynamics. The old
surgical intensive care unit will be modified to support the new
surgery area with recovery beds and conscious sedation. The nurse
station will be remodeled. The project will also convert outdated
treatment areas into modern exam/treatment rooms. 3. Renovate patient
Bathrooms, PH II, Project No. 96-102: Estimated construction cost is
between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. This project will renovate patient
and public bathrooms for handicapped accessibility in accordance with
ADA requirements. Work will include new architectural finishes,
