C -- DESIGN FOR RENOVATION OF EDUCATION CENTER, PHASES I AND II, BUILDING 21-590, ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, ALASKA SOL DACA85-95-R-0040 POC Administrative Inquiries: Ms. Michelle Mandel, 907/753-5633 or Technical Inquiries: Mr. Dan Lenz, 907/753-5612, Contracting Officer: Ms. Gail West The Alaska District Corps of Engineers intends to have Cash Barner Usher, Architects, Anchorage, Alaska, perform the 100% design for the renovation of the Education Center, Phases I and II, at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. The building as it presently exists was built as a primary and elementary school in the early 1950's. It is structurally very sound, but toilet facilities for adults and access for handicapped individuals are greatly inadequate. Additionally, the heating and ventilation systems require modernization in order to provide comfort to the users. The programmed construction budget is $850,000 for Phase I and $1,164,665 for Phase II. The design is currently at 35%. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement in the form of a letter. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all submittals received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
