16 -- F/A-18 AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE AND TECHNICAL SERVICES SOL N00019-94-G-0086 POC Contact, Matthew S. Mobley, Phone (703)604-6100 Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue an order on behalf of the Spanish Air Force (SAF) under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00019-94-G-0086 for F/A-18 maintenance and technical services. The anticipated effort will support the recent SAF purchase of six (6) used F/A-18A aircraft from the United States Government. The comprehensive effort will include short-term maintenance support prior to delivery of these aircraft, support for a logistics provisioning conference, integrated logistics support/analysis, engineering for support equipment, and technical publications to address configuration of these Spanish-owned aircraft. NAVAIR intends to negotiate this procurement with McDonnell Douglas Aerospace (MDA), P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516, the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft. MDA is the only known firm possessing the technical knowledge, expertise, and detailed familiarity with the design and modifications of the F/A-18 that is required to provide the requiring activity with timely development and integration of the required services and supplies.
