Hughes 816-823-1342 DESCRIPTION: The U.S. Department of Commerce/NOAA, intends to solicit and purchase a FASTCASS Development Station consisting of the following: 1 FastCASS Development Station (CSW200-01) consisting of FastCASS single user license, DEC-VAX Workstation 4000 Model 90A with 32mb main memory, 2.0gig fixed hard disk, 19 inch color graphics monitor, required cables, keyboard and mouse. Open VMS VAX 5.5-2 single user license, 1 day software installation and orientation, software updates for one year and user documentation including one year hardware warranty. System will also include a Development Station Optical Disk (CSW200-02)- CITE-2000/CASS compatible 1.2G capacity and drive in desktop enclosure including 594mb disk, power and SCSI cables. System will also contain a 4mm back-up tape system (CSW200-03). The system will be purchased for the National Weather Service, National Reconditioning Center, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. The equipment is being purchased to support the National Weather Service repair and diagnostic programs. Due to the design of the system and current Government software and compatibility issues, the Government believes that the equipment referenced is the only FastCASS system which will be compatible with existing hardware and software requirements. The Government intends to contract with Automated Test International of Orlando, Florida for the system. The proposed procurement action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit to only one source under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). This is not a call for proposals and no solicitation will be issued. The equipment proposed for purchase is being purchased un the guidelines of FAR Part 13 as a small purchase. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 7373. The Small Business Size Standard is $14.5 million. This is not a small business set- aside. Award will be made 15 days from date of publication.
