Department of Commerce on behalf of the National Technical Information Service plans to acquire on an indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery basis single user license(s) for Adobe Acrobat Exchange LE and Adobe Acrobat Exchange. R. R. Donnelley and Sons Company has been named as Adobe Systems' sole corporation Publisher representative. In this role, R. R. Donnelley and Sons Company acts as the exclusive corporate source for Adobe Acrobat Exchange LE and Adobe Acrobat Exchange software for Federal agencies desiring Publisher discounts when distributing products using their software. NTIS is entering into this agreement in order to 1) reimburse software copyright holders when NTIS receives and then sells products containing their software that NTIS distributes to the public produced by Federal agencies who have not provided for NTIS to use their software license contract, 2) Provide user licensing for products created and sold by NTIS to the public and Federal agencies and 3) allow Federal agencies to acquire deep discounted search and retrieval software from NTIS so they do not need to enter into their own contracts. The period of performance will be for twenty-four months. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with R. R. Donnelley and Sons Company. Interested parties are invited to identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by submitting supportive documentation. This documentation must clearly demonstrate the ability to provide the required license and support described herein as well as other information and data sufficient for their ability to satisfy this requirement. If no affirmative written documentation is received within 15 calendar days after publication of this synopsis to the effect that a compatible source is more advantageous to the Government, the government will being negotiations with R. R. Donnelley and Sons Company. Requests for copies of an RFP pertaining to this notice will not be honored. (0242)
