circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif. 95.242. 1.
Member to Agreement notifying: THAILAND. If applicable, name of local
government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2). 2. Agency responsible: Thai
Industrial Standards Institute. 3. Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4.
Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable, otherwise national
tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where
applicable): Gasoline engine vehicles (HS Chapters 8703). 5. Title and
number of pages of the notified document: TIS 1280-2538 (1995):
Standard for Gasoline Engined Vehicles; Safety Requirements; Emission
from Engine, Level 3 (48 pages). 6. Description of content: Specifies
limits for gaseous pollutants emitted from gasoline engined vehicles
conforming to TIS 1085 at a more intensely strict level (level 3)
applicable to vehicles of all capacities, and adds requirements on
evaporative emission from fuel tank and durability of pollution control
device. Includes marking and labelling, sampling and criteria for
conformity, and testing. 7. Objective and rationale: Safety requirement
and environmental protection. 8. Relevant documents: Economic
Commission for Europe Regulation No. 83 01 Series of Amendments
(E.C.E.R. 83-01). Will appear in the Government Gazette when adopted.
9. Proposed date of adoption and entry into force: 31 March 1996. 10.
