following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article
10.6. G/TBT/NOTIF. 95.243. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: THAILAND.

Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where
applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be
provided in addition, where applicable): Helmets for vehicles users (HS
Chapters 6506). 5. Title and number of pages of the notified document:
TIS 388-2538 (1995): Standard for protective helmets for vehicle users
(33 pages). 6. Description of content: Covers only protective helmets
for motorcycles and open motor car users. Classifies protective helmets
into 3 types, i.e. half type, open-face type and full-face type.
Specifies sizes and tolerances components (e.g. chinstrap width, shell
strength), materials and construction. Prescribes shock absorption,
penetration resistance, rigidity, harness and chinstrap strength, and
flexibility of peak. Includes marking and labelling, sampling and
criteria for conformity and testing. 7. Objective and rationale: Safety
requirement. 8. Relevant documents: ISO/R 1511 - 1970 (E) JIS T 8133 -
1975. Will appear in the Government Gazette when adopted. 9. Proposed
