70 -- PROCUREMENT OF PROPRIETARY SOFTWARE LICENSE AND SOFTWARE UPGRADES SOL DASW01-95-R-0274 POC Contact: Ms. Morie E. Gunter-Henderson, Contract Specialist, (703) 695-9422 The Defense Supply Service Washington, in support of the Joint Staff intends to place a five year contract with Computer Associates International, Inc., One Computer Associates Plaza, Islandis, NY 11788-7000 for the acquisition of Ingres software for the Joint Staff, Force Structure, Resources and Assessment Directorate, J-8. The software procured under this action will be integrated into the analytical computer suites of J-8 and the Joint modeling and simulation community. These activities require the extensive use of current classified intelligence material as input data to support development of analyses in support of the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, the commanders of the unified and specified commands (CINCS), and the Joint Staff, to include formulation of war plans, acquisition of Ingres Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) software licenses and support to enhance and maintain the computer operating environment in J-8 and the Joint analytical community. These purchases include original Ingres base product licenses for new hardware, upgrades to existing licenses, and support for existing applications. If no affirmative, substantive responses are received within 15 days after the publication of the synopsis, a contract with Computer Associates International, Inc., shall be placed.
