81 -- HELIUM STORAGE TANKS POC Contact Point, DAVID DALE, (516)282-3199 Brookhaven National Laboratory intends to solicit bids for six (6) Helium Gas Storage Tanks for the RHIC Helium Refrigertion/Magnet System. The Tanks shall be designed, fabricated, and tested in accordance with ASME Code; Section VIII, Div. 1, and shall be certified as such. Material - ASTM A612/A612M-87. Shell seams are to be x-rayed per ASME code for 1.0 joint efficiency. Head seams shall be spot x-rayed for quality control. Internal Working Pressure - 250 psig, and external pressure of 1 ATM during vacuum evacuation, at the temperatures range from 40 Degrees F to 140 Degrees F. Volume - 30,000 gallons. Tank Length - not to exceed 47 feet. Head shall be hemispherical or other if approved by BNL. Tank Support - saddles with a flat bottom surface suitable for mounting on a concrete foundation shall be provided.
