A -- TRACE MISSON -- HIGH PERFORAMNCE 9 AH NICKEL-CADMIUM SPACECRAFT BA TTERY SOL RFP5-15960/237 DUE 091595 POC Lorrie L. Eakin, Contract Specialist, (301) 286-4241. The Goddard Space Flight Center intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP5-15960/237), on a competitive basis, for the design, analysis, fabrication, test, and delivery of one nickel-cadmium battery assembly (9 Ah) in support of the Transition Region and Coronal Explorer (TRACE) Mission. A firm-fixed-price contract is anticipated, and the contract period of performance shall be eighteen months from the date of award. In order to have a reasonable expectation of being awarded this procurement, the successful offeror must be able to demonstrate experience in R&D analysis (with respect to correcting cell and battery anomalies), and in the fabrication of spaceflight qualified nickel-cadmium batteries. The RFP is expected to be released on or about September 15, 1995. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered.
