Specialist, (301) 286-4241. The Goddard Space Flight Center intends to
issue a Request for Proposal (RFP5-15960/237), on a competitive basis,
for the design, analysis, fabrication, test, and delivery of one
nickel-cadmium battery assembly (9 Ah) in support of the Transition
Region and Coronal Explorer (TRACE) Mission. A firm-fixed-price
contract is anticipated, and the contract period of performance shall
be eighteen months from the date of award. In order to have a
reasonable expectation of being awarded this procurement, the
successful offeror must be able to demonstrate experience in R&D
analysis (with respect to correcting cell and battery anomalies), and
in the fabrication of spaceflight qualified nickel-cadmium batteries.
The RFP is expected to be released on or about September 15, 1995. All
responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. All
requests for the RFP must be in writing and must be received within 15
days of the appearance of this notice in the CBD. Also, all requests
must be forwarded to Lorrie L. Eakin at the above address (including
