RUSSIAL, (215)697-9671 FISC Norfolk Det Philadelphia intends to acquire Maintenance and Repair Support for the URC and LST family of Motorola Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Equipment from Motorola Inc. Government and Systems Technology Group. This will be an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity type contract with delivery of the repaired items to the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Patuxent River, St. Inigoes, MD. Period of performance will be from date of award through 30 Sep 1996 with four (1) year options. This proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Motorola Inc. under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This firm is considered the only one capable of the required maintenance and repairs because they are the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the URC/LST family of SATCOM. equpiment. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by submitting technical and pricing information within 45 days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
