FLETCHER, (601) 689-8369 The Naval Oceanographic Office intends to award an indefinite delivery type contract for engineering and technical support services for maintenance, repair, design and engineering studies, logistic support, and on-site technical assistance during mobilization/demobilization of underwater survey systems and the conduct of field operations utilizing various Government owned equipment. Services may be required utilizing facility at the Naval Oceanographic Office, Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, the contractor's facility, or at remote worldwide sites for repair, troubleshooting, and testing of the systems/equipment aboard vessels supporting NAVOCEANO search, survey, ocean engineering, instrument implantation, and environmental monitoring. Among the underwater systems to be supported are the Fiber Optic Survey System (FOSS), a 20,000 fsw fiber-optic tethered survey-and- search vehicle system designed for deep-ocean bottom characterizations; the SEAMAP system, a towed long-range imaging sonar which provides swath seafloor imagery and bathymetry; commercial side scan sonar systems (Klein 2000, Klein 595, EG&G 990, and EG&G 200 systems) and digital sonar processing systems (Triton Technologies Q-MIPS and ISIS systems); Trawl Resistant, Bottom Mooring (TRBM) current measurement systems; Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) used to interpret digitally recorded information; and media processing and analysis laboratory. The contract period of performance will be for one (1) year, to begin upon contract award.
