Federal Prison Camp, Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, AL proposes to
make a single award, on a firm-fixed-price, requirements basis, for the
provision of an on-site Adult Secondary Education (GED) Instructor.
Session length for provision of services is three (3) hours, and it is
anticipated that five (5) sessions per week will be utilized, if
available funding permits. The initial contract period is from date of
award through September 30, 1996, with four successive 12-month option
renewal periods, running from October 1 through September 30 of the
respective years. Successful contractor must at a minimum, be a
qualified teacher certified by any State Department of Education; or
must have a 4-year college degree and one year of teaching experience
in elementary or secondary education. Contractual duties will include
guiding students through a comprehensive program of instruction in
adult basic and secondary education; recommending special textbooks to
be utilized by students enrolled in the GED program; and utilizing
audio-visual equipment to help enhance classroom instruction. For more
specific information detailing the responsibilities of this
contractual position, refer to Section C of the solicitation package.
The required schedule for performance of services is Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, exclusive of Federal holidays, from
5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Detailed security investigative procedures will
be required as outlined in Section H of the solicitation package and
will include, but not be limited to, a urinalysis, fingerprinting, NCIC
check, and five-year verification of employers and law enforcement
agencies. All responsible small business sources may submit an offer
