The contract will be awarded separately for Design Development and Construction Documents. A/E will be expected to survey Building 1, the main hospital at the VA Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, for life safety deficiencies as indicated by NFPA, and design corrective measures according to all federal, VA, state and local codes, in particular, NFPA. Firms applying for this work will be evaluated on expertise in the area of life safety design. Asbestos may be encountered, therefore a professional Industrial Hydienist on the design team will be a requirement. Built in 1948, Bldg. 1 is a thirteen (13) story, partially sprinkled building, approx 400,000 sq ft. Area of consideration is 150 mile radius from the VAMC, W-B. SIC 8712. Estimated construction cost range: $500,000 - $1,000,000. A/E firms which meet the requirements described in this announcement are invited to submit (1) Standard Form 254, Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire and (2) Standard Form 255, Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire for specific project no later than October 2, 1995.
