The U.S. Agency for International Development in Honduras is seeking cirricula vitae from qualified individuals for a Non-Personal Services Contract for a Forest Fire Management Advisor position. The Forest Fire Management Advisor and Honduran Forestry Development Corporation (COHDEFOR) staff will be responsible for the development of an efficient and rational forest fire management program for Honduras and for the implementation of the program on all public forest areas with approved forest management plans. The advisor will make recommendations and help to implement the necessary changes in extension, fire prevention, community involvement, forest fire data collection, fire fighting and communications equipment, prescribed burning, manpower and training. It is imperative that the forester have the following minimum qualifications: a) Overall qualifications of the Proposed Forester: 1. Relevant technical experience in the evaluation, design, implementation, and assessment of forest fire management programs. 2. Minimum of (10) years of increasingly responsible experience in forest management with emphasis on forest fires management activities. 3. Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Forestry. 4. Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish (FSI 3/3 or equivalent, as determined by USAID/Honduras) is required, and professional experience in Latin America is highly desirable. B) Quality of Past Performance in Providing Similar Technical Services: Information provided in the individuals curriculm vitae shall provide information on references including the name and address of organizations for which services were performed; the current telephone number of a responsible technical representative of that organization and the number, if any, of each contract worked on, and a brief description of the services provided, as well as the contract amount.
