59 -- THERMAL FLIGHT STRIP PRINTERS SOL DTFA-02-96-R-60001 POC Brent Foreman, (405) 954-7894 The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for (a) an estimated annual quantity of 1,150 each, COTS Thermal Printers meeting requirements of FAA Specification FAA-E-2771A, Flight Data Input/Output System (FDIO); (b) 12 mos supply (700,000,000 thermal flight strips per year) fan-folded thermal paper; (c) Contractor Depot and Logistics Support; and (d) one time cost for documentation to include technical data (Commercial drawings, illustrated parts breakdown, and technical manuals). Requirements will require technical proposals with award based on greatest value to the Government. Printers are for use in the FDIO system within the National Airspace System (NAS). Required delivery on production units 300 every 30 days. First article of 10 each will be required 45 days after date of award. F.O.B. Destination base year, F.O.B. Origin for option periods. Proposed contract Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity. Requirements include option provisions to renew for four (4) additional 1-year periods. The proposed contract will incorporate FAR Clause FAR 52.217-9, Option to Extend the Term of the Contract. Opening/closing date to be specified in the solicitation. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
