This Centralized Automated Distribution Program shall service approximately 27,000 personnel at approximately 900 locations. The contractor will be required to establish and maintain; an inventory management program, a toll free automated ordering system, a quality and internal control system, a system for processing individual orders, a distribution process for packaging and shipping, a system to establish and monitor individual accounts, a data processing system with software compatible with the USDA National Finance Center to retrieve transmitted uniform allowance filed on a daily basis, a history and running balance of each employee's account, billing and accountability records for items shipped and returned, and an automated reporting system. The contract will be in effect from the date of award (estimated April 1996) through September 30, 1997. Four option years thereafter will begin on October 1 of each fiscal year and end September 30 of the following fiscal year. The Request for Proposals (RFP) will be issued approximately September 25, 1995, with proposals due by 4:30 PM, November 28, 1995. (0248)
