for AN/DPN-88 Transponder Sets. The transponders shall be manufactured
and qualified in accordance with NAWC Performance Specification
TGT-TAS-036 and NAWC Statement of Work. Technical data is also
required. First Article Testing is required and will not be waived. The
AN/DPN-88 Transponder is an Identification Friend or Foe (IFF)
transponder. The IFF transponder is intended for use in full scale and
sub-scale expendable aerial targets. The IFF transponder is used to
meet World Range Safety Requirements, and to provide a positive
identification of aircraft within the cognizant live firing range
operation areas. The IFF transponder shall meet all the FAA and FCC
requirements for IFF transponders as defined in Performance
Specification TGT-TAS-036. The IFF transponder is a radar enhancement
device which provides automatic radar identification in response to all
suitably equipped aircraft, ships and ground forces. The transponser
receives interrogation at 1030 MHZ in Mode 1, 2, or 3 and transmits a
reply at 1090 MHz in codes 0000 through 7300 with side lobe suppression
permitting replies only to the main lobe of the interrogator. Total
quantity of transponders is 1003 each units. The base contract will be
for 3 First Article units and First Article Testing for the 3 units.
First Article units and First Article Testing shall be completed no
later than 365 days after contract award. Delivery of First Article
units shall be 15 days after approval of the First Article Test Report.
Delivery of First Article units and production option units is FOB
origin. Production Option I is for a total of 250 each production
units. Delivery of Production Option I units shall begin no later than
180 days after exercise of the option and shall be delivered at the
minimum rate of 20 units per month. Delivery of Production Option II,
III, and IV units shall begin no later than 30 days after completion of
the delivery of the previous option quantity. Copies of the
specification and SOW will be provided with the solicitation. For a
