This contract action will result in a sole source contract to Abbott Diagnostics of Abbott Park, Illinois. The following items will be procured (the numbers in parenthesis are the catalog number): HIV 1&2 Combo Test (3A77-31), HTLV-1 Test (3077-31), Corzyme Test (9977-30), Auszyme Test (1980-31), HCV Test (4A14-31), AUSAB Test (9006-24), HAVAB Test (7895-24), and Disposable Sample Tips (3A46-54). Abbott is the sole source supplier because new test results need to be comparable with previous work so that epidemiologic surveys can be used to predict infectious disease threats to U.S. military personnel. As this contract action will be negotiated on a sole-source basis, no formal soliciation will be issued. See Note 22. Any interested vendor which intends to submit a proposal in accordance with Note 22 MUST notify the above point-of-contact of their intent to do so within fifteen calendar days after the date of publication of this synopsis.
