The National Science Foundation (NSF) requests quotations for an integrated library system (software) to support the automation of the NSF Library. The library collection consists of 10,000 to 15,000 serial and monograph titles for which MARC (Machine Readable Cataloging) records are available. The system must be available for purchase in modules; the NSF requires modules for a PAC (Public Access Catalog), and for cataloging, and may acquire additional modules such as modules for circulation, acquisitions, and serials control. Licensing is required for an expected five to ten Library staff for all modules purchased, and for between ten and twenty concurrent customer users for the PAC (Public Access Catalog) module. A WWW (World Wide Web) interface is required; the license for this interface should permit unrestricted access by any lmember of the NSF staff or the public having access to the WWW. The system must use client-server architecture, must be currently capable of running on an NT server; must use the TCP/IP networking protocol; and must provide both MS-Window and Macintosh GUI (Graphical User Interface) client for staff modules and both MS-Windows and Macintosh GUI clients for the PAC mnodule in addition to the WWW interface to the PAC.
