NOTICE OF CONTRACT ACTION: The Government intends to issue a solicitation on a sole source basis to procure computer network services from Col-Ins-Co, 1313 44th Street, Orlando, FL 32839. Additional information is as follows: The Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC), Patrick AFB, FL has a requirement for a Computer Network Management system to analyze the existing computer network to determine current system configuration and performance, document all design deficiencies, recommend improvements, and assist Government personnel in establishing a network management process. Other activities shall include, but not be limited to, the following: a) Network design analysis: router-centric vs server-centric architecture, cabling options (fiber vs copper), hardware platform selection and configuration, b) Network performance analysis: software application servers vs. stand-alone configurations, c) Network security: policies and procedures, user privileges, passwords and authentication, physical security issues, remote and dial-in access, d) Internet security, firewalls, user access, automated answers to database queries, and, e) Network management: SNMP software, agents, RMON probes. An extensive amount of design knowledge and practical experience must be combined to properly analyze, audit, and manage computer networks. The applicable SIC code for this acquisition is 7379 and the Small Business Size Standard is 18.0 million.
