Officer at 907-271-3700. Aircraft Maintenance Service - Anchorage,
Alaska The Department of the Interior, Office of Aircraft Services is
soliciting offers from firms to perform maintenance on Government Owned
aircraft (Piper PA-18, Cessna 185/206 and light twins) that operate in
and out of Anchorage, Alaska. The solicitation covers all of the
maintenance work (both current and projected) that is performed by
Government employees at the OAS Maintenance facility in Anchorage.
Contract term for one year, with options to renew for an additional
four years. This solicitation is part of an Office of Management and
Budget. Circular A-76 study that will compare the cost of commercial
contract maintenance vs maintenance performed by Government employees.
The Government will evaluate offers received as a result of this
solicitation against the cost of performing the effort with Government
personnel. The Government does not guarantee that an award will be
made as a result of this solicitation, and is subject to the procedures
and reviews provided for under Circular A-76. Contractors must be an
FAA Certified Repair Station and have a facility located in Anchorage,
Alaska. The facility must meet all current state and local codes. The
ability to access Lake Hood for Both float and ski operations is
required. The contractor shall be required to furnish all facilities
and personnel to provide this support. No Government facilities are
provided. The capability to perform work on up to three aircraft
simultaneously is required. Annual work is on an intermittent basis,
and includes performing gear changes (float/wheels/float, estimated at
28 Events; wheel/ski/wheel, estimated at 36 events), 100 hour/annual
inspections (estimated at 80 events), as well as remedial maintenance
(estimated between 4,000 and 6,000 man hours), and avionics
installations and repairs. All work must be performed by the contractor
or approved subcontractors. Solicitation No. 8195-14 is anticipated to
be available August 25, 1995, with proposals due October 15, 1995. It
is anticipated that a pre-proposal conference will be held in
Anchorage, Alaska, September 8, 1995. Contact Alf Aanensen, Contracting
