The Albuquerque Area Indian Health Service intends to contract for services to assist Indian Health Services (IHS) in the planning and development of mental health services for Indian people served by the Albuquerque and Navajo Areas IHS. This procurement is to support the Joint Powers Agreement effort between New Mexico Department of Health and Albuquerque Area IHS. Activities will include (but not limited to): (1) organizing and facilitating the development of specific plans and an infrastructure for the creating of community based systems of mental health care for children and adults supported by Medicaid and other third party reimbursements; (2) establishing mechanisms for IHS to access Federal administrative financial participation from the Health Care Financing Administration or other sources for Medicaid program administration; (3) provide consultations/work and training sessions pertaining to this project to Tribal programs, consumers and family members and IHS Service Units in New Mexico. A 12 month firm-fixed price type contract with one 1-year option is anticipated. Requests for the solicitation must be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer. (244)
