Conaway, Contracting Officer, (816)426-7267 ext 232 Furnish all labor, material, equipment and each and every item of expense for the construction/renovation of the new National Weather Service Forecast Office (WFO) and auxiliary structure to be constructed on approximately 0.7 acres of land located at the Julian Carroll Airport, Breathitt County, Kentucky. The project consists of an addition of approximately 3000 square feet to an existing 1900 square foot WFO building. The work will be accomplished in phases with the existing building remaining in operation during construction of the addition followed by renovation of the existing building. The new addition will be steel frame/brick veneer construction with an asphalt shingle roof. Administrative and Technical areas, both, are to be incorporated into the project. Interior climate will be controlled by a technically advanced environmental system. Backup power will be supplied by a government furnished diesel generator. The auxiliary structure will be approximately 500 square feet housing the diesel generator and supplemental storage. Work includes but is not limited to excavation and earthfill, compacting, grading and drainage; construction of a new building addition and auxiliary structure; interior renovation of an existing building, demolition and construction of interior walls; installation, connection, startup and testing of government furnished equipment; coordination of public utility services, connection of utilities; paving and landscaping. The estimated project cost is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Construction is estimated to start Nov 95 and to be completed 254 days later. A firm fixed price Contract is anticipated. This is a total small business set-aside. SIC Code 1542 applies.
