Ward, (801) 524-5248, Contracting Officer The work is located approximately 36 miles northwest of Price, Utah, in Carbon County. This is a Two-Step Sealed Bid. Technical Proposals will be required prior to solicitation of bids. The principal features of the work include: Excavating variable rockfill embankment and foundation materials within, below, and downstream of the dam; constructing a working pad for performing the stone column treatment work; performing Becker Hammer Penetration tests before and after stone column construction; processing and stockpiling rockfill materials; construction of a sheet pile cutoff wall; constructing large-diameter bottom feed stone columns through the working pad into the foundation including a test section; furnishing processed gravels for the stone column construction; furnishing processed sand filter; excavating toe drain and outfall trenches; furnishing and installing an 18-inch-diameter perforated, high-density polyethylene corrugated drainage pipe embedded in a gravel envelope; furnishing and installing one 8-foot-diameter concrete inspection well; furnishing and installing 30-inch-diameter nonperforated outfall drain; constructing a sand filter, zone 2 chimney drain on the downstream slope of the dam embankment; constructing a sand filter, zone 2 horizontal drainage blanket; construction of a zoned embankment stability berm; and furnishing and installing instrumentation.
