COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 11,1995 PSA#1428MINES, COUNTERMINES & DEMOLITIONS SYMPOSIUM POC Doreen Chaplin,
Chairperson, SFAE-ASM-MCD, X7573. The American Defense Preparedness
Association in cooperation with the US Army Armament Research,
Development and Engineering Center, ARDEC, will conduct the Mines,
Countermine & Demolitions Symposium October 23-25, 1995 at the Hyatt
Regency Hotel in Tampa, Florida. The symposium theme is ``Mine Warfare
2000 and Beyond''. Mine Warfare increases it's influence in the era of
2000 and beyond. This symposium will look at how mines, countermine and
demolitions (MCD) propose integration into the digitized battlefield.
Battle labs will discuss the generation of critical 21st century MCD
requirements based on simulation, modeling, AWE's and ACTD's.
International spokesman present their future requirements and
prespectives given the changing ground rules of mine warfare. New
countermine and demining equipment concepts emerge as an out growth of
widespread concern over the hazardous contamination posed by land
mines. The increasing nontraditional use of land mines
(lethal/non-lethal) in low tensity conflicts and OOTW will be discussed
by the special forces. This one and a half day meeting is technical in
nature and comprehensive in scope. It should meet the needs of the
technical community and be of particular value to technical marketing
personnel, research and development engineers, project engineers, and
system designers. This symposium will bring together personnel from
industry and government to examine the future conduct of autonomous
high tech mine warfare. For additional information and a symposium
