The Government intends to procure a Network Operations System that must be engineered to house a minimum of eight 20'' to 27'' color monitors and have a growth potential of up to 16 or more. System to be installed comfortably in a room approximately 28' X 18'8''. The system design must allow for ease of configuration change, corner modules and addition of upper tiers in the field. Design must be open architecture style consisting of 2'1/2'' X 1 1/4'' framework in 16 gauge cold rolled steel, and provide superior ventilation for non raised floor environment. System need not be compatible with any existing equipment. Tinted optical glass enclosures are required. Peripherals of different dimensions and weight must be accommodated for in the system. A cable management system must be an integral part of the design. The cables and wires must be segregated within the framework so that it produces the shortest cable run and eliminates noise. Additional required features include telephone jacks, ventilation fans and lighting. Front and back access to the terminals and connections for maintenance purposes must be a design feature. The procedures to be used in awarding this contract is written quotation and the anticipated award date is 28 September 1995.
