L -- CABLE SHIP OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE AND CABLE ENGINEERING SOL N00039-95-R-0115(Q) POC Donna Dennis, 02-22, 703-602-0980. Synopsis No. 63. The SPACE AND NAVAL WARFARE SYSTEMS COMMAND is soliciting for the operation and maintenance of a Navy owned cable ship and engineering services to install, repair and design undersea cable systems and hardware for undersea surveillance systems. The prospective contractor will provide ship's crew, messing, repair and refit, fueling, insurance, shore support, communications, mission planning, special equipment operation, and system engineering and technical support for at-sea operations. The ship docks NSC Cheatham Annex, Williamsburg, VA, it will operate worldwide. This RFP will be transmitted through the SPAWAR Bulletin Board System (BBS). The RFP will only be available by calling the SPAWAR BBS, (703)602-9494, and downloading the RFP. The Bulletin Board operates at 14,400 BAUD with a setting of 8:N:1. The RFP will be in WordPerfect 6.0 format. The file will be compressed by a shareware program, PKZIP 2.04G. The RFP file name will be 95r0115.ZIP. To download this RFP, the prospective offeror will need at a minimum, PC or MAC with modem emulation software that supports VT100 or ANSI standing, a modem that operates between 300 bps - 14.4K bps and a minimum of 1.5 MEG free disk space. The RFP will be available O/A 15 days after the release of this synopsis. Prospective offerors are required to supply the name and address of their company, the Point of Contact's name and phone number on the on- line questionnaire in order to be placed on the RFP's Bidders List. All others are also requested to optionally provide answers to a questionnaire on electronic contracting. Telephone inquiries for the RFP will not be honored. Offerors who would like a copy of the RFP must access the bulletin board. The bulletin board will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
