STATE OF MAINE. Lay-up the ship's equipment/systems, secure and clean
the ship's internal space, remove and dispose of hazardous material,
fabricate and install new shaft lock and rudder lock, prepare the ship
for towing, and provide tug services to tow the ship from Maine
Maritime Academy, Castine, ME and deliver to MARAD, James River Reserve
Fleet, Fort Eustis, Va. The Maritime Administration requires that to be
eligible for award under this solicitation offerors must: Be holders of
the MARAD Master Lump Sum Repair Agreement (MLSRA) or shall apply for
and agree to the terms and conditions of the MLSRA. Offerors may accept
the MLSRA with their bid; nonholders shall provide annual
representations and certifications as required by the MLSRA. Delivery
schedule is 14 calendar days, plus towing allowance days, after
effective date of a written Notice to Proceed. All requests must be in
writing; may be telefaxed to (804) 441-6080. THIS NOTICE IS FOR
INFORMATION PURPOSES FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED AND DISADVANTAGED
BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has a program to
assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
