The Federal Prison Camp, Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, AL is soliciting offers for an Islamic Imam Leader to provide religious/spiritual services to the Muslin inmate congregation. Session length for provision of services is one (1) hour, and it is anticipated that two (2) sessions per week will be utilized, if available funding permits. The initial contract period is from date of award through September 30, 1996, with four successive 12-month option renewal periods, running from October 1 through September 30 of the respective years. Successful contractor must be endorsed as an Indian or Assistant Imam by a Masjid; have knowledge of the Arab language; and have extensive experience in the practice of Islam. Contractual duties will include instructing the fundamentals of the Islamic faith. For more specific information detailing the responsibilities of this contractual position, refer to Section C of the solicitation package. The required schedule for performance of services is Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., exclusive of Federal holidays. Detailed security investigative procedures will be required as outlined in Section H of the solicitation package and will include, but not be limited to, a urinalysis, fingerprinting, NCIC check, and five-year verification of employers and law enforcement agencies.
