work is to realign fuel storage Tanks Nos. 11, 14, 17 to accept and
issue JP-8 and to provide a tank-bottom water collection system to a
new tank located near fuel storage tank No. 17. To realign and isolate
Tanks 11, 14 and 17, the fill side will be blinded off from the 250-mm
fill line at each fill side valve pit. At each valve pit at each of
Tanks 11, 14, and 17, the water draw-off line will be connected and
routed to a new 10,000-gallon storage tank located near Tank 17. The
50-mm, water draw-off connection will be PVC, double-contained pipe
tank bottom. The double-contained pipe will flow draw-off water from
Tank 11 toward Tank 17 due to the pressure head developed at Tank 11
and elevation change. A 20-gallon per minute positive displacement pump
will be provided at Tank 14. Valve Pit 102, and a centrifugal pump will
be provided at Tank 17, Valve Pit 103 to lift the water to the draw-off
system. At Valve Pit 108 (VP-108), a new, 300-mm line will be connected
to the 460-mm suction line ''N''. The new 300-mm line will be routed
east off D.F.S.P. property to near the center of Gaffey Street, where
it will be connected to the existing 300-mm multipurpose line. This
line will replace an existing 200-mm line. The 300-mm line will tie
into the 460-mm line where the 200-mm line currently is tied in. Valve
numbers 17 and 24 (VP-108) will be blinded off and removed from the
460-mm line. At VP-104, valve number 54 will be blinded off on the
Valve Pit 108 side. At VP-58, the 200-mm valves in Valve No. 107; VP
59, Valve No. 106; VP-79, Valve No. 110; and VP 81, Valve No. 105, the
side closest to the tanks or the downstream side will be blinded off.
A new 300-mm pipe inspection tool launcher will be installed on the
multipurpose line between the 350-mm JP-4 line and the Chevron line
next to the existing 350-mm launchers and the Chevron pipeline shack.
The new, 300-mm pipe inspection tool receiver will be located adjacent
and north of Valve Pit 108. All underground portions f the 300-mm line
will be cathodically protected by galvanic anodes and incidental
related work, complete and ready for use.--The estimated cost is
between $250,000 and $500,000.--Firm Fixed Price Contract.--Contract
duration is 120 calendar days.--THIS SOLICITATION IS SET ASIDE FOR
SMALL DISADVANTAGED BUSINESSES.--The Standard Industrial Code is 1629
and the annual size standard is $17 million.--NOTE: Plans and specs
will not be mailed to firms within a 20 mile radius of the issuing
office.--Solicitation packages may be acquired in person from Plan
