(816) 426-3106 Contracting Officer Project generally consists of, but
is not limited to the following: 1) Clear, grub, grade and excavate
site for VHF/DF facility. The area within a 50 meter radius from the
main antenna shall be graded at 1% to slope away from the main antenna.
2) Furnish and install 8'-0'' x 12'-0'' fiberglass equipment shelter
and concrete pier foundations. 3) Install main antenna and furnish and
install a 36''x48''x12'' antenna cable junction box (Note: The main
antenna is government furnished material (GFM)). 4) Install conduit and
cabling between the equipment shelter and the DF Main Antenna (Note:
The control and coaxial cables are GFM). 5) Install four target
antennas and associated coaxial cable and conduit. (Note: The four
target antennas and the coaxial cable are GFM). 6) Furnish and install
crushed rock on the access road, building plot, main antenna plot and
the target antenna plots. Note: The Contractor shall contact the Boone
County Public Works Department at the start of construction. The county
will size and specify the culvert and the aggregate for the part of the
access road that lies in the county's right-of-way. The Contractor
shall purchase the aggregate and culvert and the county will pick up
the materials, deliver them and install them. 7) Furnish and install a
23 ft. tall, direct burial, fiberglass pole with a 24'' high air
terminal and down conductors. 8) Furnish and install 6'-0'' CCA treated
wood fence around the fiberglass equipment shelter and main antenna and
4'0'' CCA treated wood fence around each target antenna. 9) Furnish and
install exterior and interior electrical, grounding and lightning
protection work. 10) Seed all areas, not surfaced with gravel, with
grass. 11) Furnish and install entrance gate and culverts. The
estimated price range of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000.

of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs
to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises
to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
